You’ve been invited
Someone trusts you with their safety
A person you care about has added you as an emergency contact on Pulse. Here’s what that means.
What is Pulse?
Pulse is a personal safety check-in app. Each day, the person who invited you taps a button to confirm they’re okay. If they miss their check-in — and don’t respond to reminders — you’ll receive an email notification.
That’s it. No location tracking. No surveillance. No app required on your end. Just a simple safety net built on trust.
How it works
Your role as an emergency contact
Accept the invitation
Click the confirmation link in the email you received. This confirms you’re willing to be a safety contact.
Go about your day
You don’t need to do anything. No app to install, no account to create. Pulse handles everything.
Get notified if needed
If the person who invited you misses their check-in and doesn’t respond to reminders, you’ll receive an email letting you know.
Questions you might have
Will I be tracked or monitored?
Absolutely not. Pulse doesn’t collect your location, and your email is only used for notifications. You won’t receive marketing emails.
How often will I hear from Pulse?
Hopefully never. You’ll only receive an email if the person who invited you misses their check-in and doesn’t respond to multiple reminders.
Can I opt out?
Yes, at any time. Every notification email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can remove yourself as a contact whenever you want.
Do I need to install the app?
No. Emergency contacts receive email notifications only. No app or account required.
